Some of the best moments can't be scheduled. A fire. A shared bottle of wine. A moment to breathe.
That's the beauty of primal living. It’s following your intuition, sinking into sheepskin, letting the moment slow you down, so you can truly connect. Our Bowral team took Ruby along to the Horizontal Festival and watched the magic happen.
We were lucky to be part of the opening evening on the lawn at Centennial Vineyards. There was good food, good wine and the kind of easy, unhurried atmosphere that sets the tone for the whole weekend.
Francis Mallmann, the godfather of fire cooking, was there, and we enjoyed getting to watch him in action and taste the results. Cooking over open flame is about patience, instinct and being present, which is exactly what primal living is about. Bonus: It was delicious

Conversation & Connection
It may have rained on the first day of the festival, but it only made the Connection Tent better. With Ruby at the centre and sheepskin underfoot, the tent became a place to shelter and settle in, enjoying activities like:
- Speed friending. We ran speed friending sessions, a few minutes with a stranger, then a nudge to move on and meet someone new.
- Conversation cards. Our conversation cards gave people a way past "so, what do you do?"
- Chocolate tea ceremony. Our chocolate tea ceremony was a chance to pause and savour, run by the incredible Chocolat Philippe.
- Sheepskin. With Ruby at the centre and sheepskin to sink into, people got comfortable.
Thank you to the Horizontal team for having us, and to everyone who stopped by to sit, chat and share a story. If you'd like to bring a little of that comfort home order a Shaggy Bean Bag for your space. Or, if you're nearby, come and say hello at our new Bowral store.
